Overview

Clearbit for Salesforce transforms each new email or domain into a complete person or company profile, enriching your customer records, and pushing the data to directly into Salesforce. With access to over 150 data sources, Clearbit provides the most accurate and up to date data possible across your entire database.

Data.com, previously known as Jigsaw, was a decent tool for acquiring leads and cleaning records within Salesforce CRM. Data.com utilized a user-generated database that's updated by its members by uploading their contacts in exchange for access to others.

The level of detail and number of contacts available through Clearbit Prospector was greater than any of the other tools we considered.

Data Coverage

Clearbit collects data from over 150 sources in real time and can pull data for any company that has a website. From company size to your decision makers email address, Clearbit has the data your sales team needs. Geograpic coverage is best within North America, Western Euroupe, and the English speaking world, but there is significant coverage throughout APAC and LATAM as well.

In the early days of Data.com, they had some of the best coverage in the contact information business. However over the last 4-5 years there have been increasing reports of the data missing new companies and companies outside the United States.

Data Accuracy

Clearbit data has been immensely helpful in identifying which leads within Salesforce we want to focus on. In addition, the support from the team at Clearbit has been incredible!

Salesforce leads are automatically updated with social information (including the Linkedin profile) - this saves the sales team a ton of manual research time.

Clearbit only stores a contact or account record for 30 days before automatically refreshing that record. This means that there will never be any record older than 30 days returned.

At their peak, Data.com had great contact and account accuracy. The effects of time have been felt and the database has been slowly going out of date.

Most other enrichment services required to add the extra fields directly to contact/lead/account objects. Clearbit has their own object and auto write to standard fields!

Setup and Onboarding

The Clearbit SFDC integration can be self-installed and configured in under 15 minutes. Once configured, there is zero addtional setup or management nesessary. Data is automatically written to standard SFDC fields and is instantly avaliable for reporting, routing, and lead qualification.

Data.com had a real advantage compared to many providers as they were owned by (and directly integrated into) Salesforce. That being said, there is a lengthy integration process with Salesforce sales engineering to get up and running.
